Pleasanton Smog and Repair offers smog checks by appointment only. California residents are required to undergo smog testing every 2 years. When you move to California, this test must be done within 20 days of establishing residency. Out of state smog inspection stickers do not suffice.
You must present a CA smog inspection certificate when registering your vehicle. Diesel vehicles, hybrids, motorcycles, and trailers also must complete smog checks as well. In these counties, only certain zip codes require smog checks:
When you come in for a smog test, you’ll need to present your driver’s license, proof of insurance, title (unless you are still making payments on the vehicle), and registration. Once your vehicle passes inspection, you’ll receive a certificate. If your car fails, we will advise you on the repairs needed to pass and then offer you a retest.
